Robert Stephen "Steve" Storey
Robert Stephen "Steve" Storey, 71, died Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC.
Steve was born, October 18, 1946, in Northampton County, son of the late Henry Clinton and Mattie Ruth Sykes Storey. He was past Commander of the Jackson Rescue Squad, member of the Jackson Fire Department and was a past chairman of the Deacons at Jackson Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his son, David Stephen Storey; sisters, Crethie Spence and Melba Simon; brothers, John E. Storey and Henry Parker Storey.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Jean C. Storey of the home; daughter, Stephanie Deacon and husband John, of Youngsville, NC; daughter-in-law, Wendy Morris and husband Ricky, of Woodland; sister, Carolyn Thompson; brother, Ronald Storey; 5 granddaughters, Rachelle Raines and husband Seth, Sarah Deacon, Rebecca Storey, Molly Deacon, and Emma Storey. Also surviving is his great- grandson, Riley David Raines.
Rev. Jim Cox will conduct services to celebrate Steve's life Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested making memorial contributions in honor of Robert Stephen Storey to: Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 1010 Bethel Church Rd., Pleasant Hill, NC 27866.
